Responsibilities
Provide care and assistance to residents in an assisted living facility
Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Monitor and record vital signs of residents
Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
Follow resident rights policies and procedures
Experience
Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required. On-the-job training available
Experience working with individuals with dementia or developmental disabilities is a plus

Volunteers offer an opportunity to positively impact the lives of elderly residents while gaining valuable experience in the healthcare and senior living sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Interaction: Spend quality time with residents by offering companionship and engaging in activities like conversation, games, reading, or assisting with hobbies.
Assist with Activities: Support staff during scheduled recreational and social activities such as arts and crafts, exercise sessions, concerts and bingo.
Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional comfort to residents who may be feeling lonely or anxious. Provide a friendly, supportive presence.
Help with Meals: Assist with meal services by helping residents during meal times, serving food, or ensuring they are comfortable.
Maintain a Clean Environment: Support staff in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming living spaces for residents.
Provide Assistance with Mobility: Assist residents who need help moving around the facility, whether it’s accompanying them to common areas or helping them with transportation to activities.
Administrative Assistance: Assist the activity director with materials for events.
Promote Safety: Help ensure that residents are comfortable and safe in their living environment. Report any issues or concerns to staff or management.
Attend Volunteer Meetings and Training: Participate in orientation sessions, ongoing training, and volunteer meetings to stay informed about facility policies and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Compassionate, patient, and respectful toward elderly individuals.
Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, staff, and families.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior experience in healthcare, volunteering, or working with seniors is helpful, but not required.
Must pass a background check and adhere to the facility's policies regarding volunteer behavior and safety protocols.
Dependability and a positive, friendly attitude.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular schedule (e.g., a few hours per month, depending on availability and facility needs). Flexibility is available based on the volunteer's availability.
